Recital Tour with Sharon Isbin
Isabel reunites with acclaimed guitarist Sharon Isbin this spring on a recital tour, featuring a dynamic program of works from Spanish composers including Lorca, Albéniz, Tárrega, Montsalvatge, and de Falla. The first performance takes place on March 21 at Shannon Hall on the University of Wisconsin – Madison campus. They later travel to Washington D.C. for a featured performance as part of the Kennedy Center International Festival Fortas Series, Iberian Suite: global arts remix on March 24 in the Terrace Theater. The tour concludes with a performance on the Emery University campus in Atlanta on April 4.
Audiences have much to look forward to with this tour, as Ms. Leonard and Ms. Isbin performed to rave reviews last summer at the Aspen Music Festival: “Leonard, whose mother is Argentinian, put her Latin side and sultry voice to use in songs by Garcia Lorca, Falla and Monstalvatge. She relished every phrase, and Isbin’s sensitive accompaniment was equally penetrating . . . The interplay of Leonard’s dark, creamy sound and Isbin’s immersive knowledge of the piece’s twists and turns was mesmerizing.” (Seen and Heard International)
