Ms. Leonard’s latest recording, “Alma Española” will be released internationally on July 14, and is now available for pre-order via Amazon.com. A collection of all Spanish songs recorded with guitarist Sharon Isbin, the CD includes duos by Federico García Lorca, Manuel de Falla, Xavier Montsalvatge, Agustín Lara, and Joaquín Rodrigo, and guitar solos by Granados and Tárrega. Ms. Leonard and Ms. Isbin have frequently been featured in performance on the concert stage, however this project is their first-ever album release as a duo. Both singer and guitarist are Grammy Award-winning artists, and have received numerous other accolades throughout their careers. Ms. Isbin was awarded Guitar Player magazine’s “Best Classical Guitarist” Award, and was the first guitarist ever to win the Munich Competition, while Ms. Leonard received the Richard Tucker Award in 2013. Together, these two gifted artists join forces to bring the listener on a musical voyage to Spain.
