Ravel: L’Enfant et les Sortilèges album nominated for 2016 GRAMMY!
The recent DECCA Classics release of Ravel’s L’Enfant et les Sortilèges, featuring Isabel Leonard as the Child, has been nominated for a 2016 GRAMMY for Best Opera Recording. The album, with esteemed contributors including conductor Seiji Ozawa and the Saito Kinen Orchestra, was received with spectacular acclaim from critics:
Isabel Leonard makes a believable Child . . . Her warm mezzo comes into its own at ‘Toi, le coeur de la rose’, where Ravel tips his hat to ‘Adieu, notre petite table’ in Massenet’s Manon.
Richard Lawrence – Gramophone
Isabel Leonard—a guarantee of quality whatever she sings—makes an irresistible child in L’Enfant.
