Fall 2014 engagements at The Met
Isabel’s 2014-15 season kicks off with a return to The Metropolitan Opera, for not one, but two productions. First up is Mozart’s Le Nozze di Figaro, with Ms. Leonard singing the role of Cherubino, the mischevious pageboy. Music Director James Levine returns to the pit for these performances, which open The Met’s season. This is a new production, set in the Gilded Age of the 1920’s. Ildar Abdrazakov sings the title role, Marlis Petersen is Susanna, Peter Mattei sings the Count, and Amanda Majeski is the Countess. Performances take place September 22, 25 & 27, and October 2, 7, 10, 14, 18, 22 & 25, with a Live in HD broadcast on October 18. Tickets and more information are available at the following link.
Ms. Leonard continues at The Met in a signature role, Rosina, in Rossini’s energetic work Il Barbiere di Siviglia. Renowned tenor Lawrence Brownlee sings Almaviva, and Christopher Maltman is the barber, Figaro, with Michele Mariotti leading from the pit. This production will also receive a Live in HD worldwide broadcast on November 22. Additional performances take place on November 18, 26 & 29, and December 3 & 6. Click here to purchase tickets.
