In April, Isabel returns to The Metropolitan Opera stage as Dorabella, one of her signature roles, in Mozart’s effervescent comedy Cosí fan tutte. Anthony Tommasini of The New York Times praised Ms. Leonard’s portrayal at The Met in November 2010: “Blending vocal warmth and clarity, Ms. Leonard was a winning Dorabella.” George Loomis of The Classical Review said of the same performance, “Isabel Leonard contributes a charismatic Dorabella that is eloquently sung in pure mezzo tones.”
Isabel is joined by a spectacular cast including Susanna Phillips, soprano in the role of Dorabella’s sister Fiordiligi, Matthew Polenzani, tenor as Ferrando, Rodion Pogossov, baritone, as Guglielmo, and Maestro James Levine leads The Metropolitan Opera Orchestra.
Performance dates are April 23, 26 & 30, and May 3 & 8. The April 26 performance will be simulcast live in HD to cinemas worldwide.
