Isabel Leonard Wins her first Grammy and Makes her Lyric Opera Debut
Isabel Leonard took home her first Grammy last weekend, winning the 2013 Best Opera Recording for Adès’ The Tempest. This honor is shared with composer/conductor Thomas Adès, cast members Simon Keenlyside, Audrey Luna, Alek Shrader & Alan Oke, as well as producer Jay David Saks. This Deutsche Grammophon album features The Metropolitan Opera Orchestra and Chorus and is available on Amazon and Deutsche Grammophon.
On February 1, Leonard will make her Lyric Opera debut as Rosina in The Barber of Seville. This new production features Tony and Olivier Award-winning director Rob Ashford and includes cast members Nathan Gunn, Alek Shrader and Alessandro Corbelli.
